Check (90 %) – Handout is complete including all definitions. All short answer questions have been completed accurately demonstrating adequate effort. The answers are reasonable based on the text. Some answers however lack adequate explanation or are missing specific examples from the book.
Check Minus (80 %) – Handout is mostly complete but may be missing a few definitions. All short answer questions have been completed, but some may be questionable based on the text, and demonstrate unacceptable effort, or a lack of reading.
Check Minus Minus (70 %) – Handout was submitted but is incomplete. Handout is missing answers to short answer questions, or is missing a significant number of definitions. Answers show poor effort and/or a lack of reading. You are much better off submitting homework late than submitting homework in this condition!
Zero (0%) – Handout has not been submitted or was returned because it was mostly incomplete. Homework may be submitted or resubmitted late. The penalty for late work is to have your grade lowered by one level (10%).
Notes: Spelling, grammar, and legibility are not part of the grade, but please do your best with them. You must however always answer short answer questions in complete sentences to receive full credit. Expectations for short answer questions on tests or quizzes will be higher than for homework. This is because we review and discuss all homework questions. Adjust and add to your answers accordingly for the test.
